Fiberglass XPS Foam Panels For refrigerated Truck

Fiberglass XPS foam panels

FRP (fibreglass) is the skin, which covers the XPS foam surface. The sandwich core is XPS (extruded polystyrene) foam. Polymer composite plastic sandwich panel that can enhance the structural strength. High-strength materials, good heat insulation performance, long service life and other advantages. They are widely used in refrigerated trucks, insulated trucks, frozen trucks, trailers and RV.CKD case delivery or panel production is available.
OEM/ODM Customized Service: customized length, thickness, width, RAL colour, skin, core, density and surface treatment are available.
Three advantages:

  • The thermal conductivity of XPS foam is 0.03 W/(m-K), which is 25% higher insulation efficiency than traditional materials.
  • Compressive strength of 200-700 kPa, more stable at high speeds
  • The water absorption rate is less than 0.1%, which is more suitable for refrigerated transportation in humid environments.

Product Description:

Structure of Fiberglass XPS foam composite panel: FRP skin + XPS foam + FRP skin.
This composite panel is a high-performance panel, also called a reinforced fiberglass panel, which is a typical lightweight material. He is not easy to break, and not easy to deform and crack when encountering impacts. It can replace the colour-coated aluminium or steel plate, has very good physical properties, it can be waterproof, has dust entry, and in a vacuum environment, use of foam high-strength adhesives for bonding. In XPS foam applications, it can stop heat conduction and protect the core. Corrosion resistance and high strength.
Fiberglass is mainly used in lightweight, heavy-duty refrigerated truck bodies and has considerable application in refrigerated trailers. Composite panels can be produced in lengths from 0 to 12 meters, with thicknesses from 10mm to 140mm, in a choice of RAL colours. Usually can meet 2.5 meters length of mobile small trailers, of course, also can meet 12 meters length of heavy semi-trailer trucks. Our one-piece composite panel truck body, has no rivets, a more neat appearance, we provide free body design, and CKD case delivery, easy to install, saves time.
If applied to other applications, such as dry trucks, and RV, you can use CFRT, aluminium, plywood and other skin, foam can use plywood, PU, PET and so on.

Characteristics:

Fiberglass XPS panels are the perfect choice for refrigerated trucks. We add anti-ageing agents and protective film to increase the service life. Stability can be improved by embedding reinforced structural materials and embedding structural materials such as aluminium tubes and fiberglass tubes inside. Our products have a lot of advantages and characteristics, which are listed below.

  • Toughness: high compressive strength, not easily deformed by impact.
  • Low thermal conductivity: XPS has low thermal conductivity, 0.03 W/(m-K)
  • Low water absorption: 0.1% water absorption, better than EPS and XPS.
  • Long service life: the service life of the whole truck body is up to 10 years, and the process maintains the performance.
  • Wide adaptable temperature: -20℃ to 50℃, used for all refrigerated trucks, freezer trucks, and insulated trucks.
  • Low cost: we are the source manufacturer of FRP XPS panels, and we have low cost.
  • High precision: we use the world’s top production equipment, imported CNC machines, and small errors.
  • Customizable: Highly customizable.

Why is XPS foam better than EPS and PU for refrigerated sandwich core?

XPS, also known as “Extruded Polystyrene”, is a type of polymer material that can form a closed cell structure, which has the advantage of better preventing moisture and dust from penetrating into the foam, which affects the thermal insulation performance, and can prolong its service life.

Relative to EPS, EPS is manufactured by the foam master in the mould, although also a closed-cell structure, there may be air attack between the beads and poor performance in thermal insulation performance.

XPS foam is better compared to common thermal insulation PU (polyurethane) foam, although PU is better at thermal insulation performance. However, XPS is much higher than PU in terms of water absorption performance. So XPS is more suitable for cold food truck transportation.
